Lifting Slings are rated according to hitch type.  The three typical hitches are choker, vertical, and basket.  Nylon Lifting Slings base the rating on the vertical hitch rating.  The choker hitch would be 80% of the vertical rating and the basket hitch would be double the vertical rating.  Certain Web Slings, such as Triangle Slings, can only be used for vertical or basket.  Eye and Eye Slings, Endless Slings, and Cargo Slings are all different types of Nylon Slings .
